We Launched Tiglin’s 2024 Annual Report at Leinster House, Calling for Action on Social Care Leinster House, Dublin – May 22, 2025:We are proud to have launched Tiglin’s 2024 Annual Report at Social Care in Action, a special event held in Leinster House. As one of Ireland’s leading organisations responding to addiction, homelessness, and social exclusion, this was an important moment to showcase our work and call for urgent action. The event was hosted by our founder, Senator Aubrey McCarthy, recently appointed to the Oireachtas Committee on Housing and Local Government. It brought together members of the Oireachtas, frontline staff, service users, and supporters to share stories and solutions from the ground up. In 2024, our Lighthouse Café served over 100,000 hot meals—a stark reminder of the hardship many face daily. This report paints a picture of an organisation deeply engaged on the frontline of Ireland’s social crises. At the heart of the event were the voices of those with lived experience. Nicola and Paul, two of our graduates, shared their powerful stories of transformation.Nicola said: “My main goal for the day used to be just to drink. That was it. And saying it now — it’s heartbreaking.” Paul shared his progress: “Right now, in the community, I’m not ‘Paul the addict’ anymore. I’m just Paul. People don’t know my past unless I tell them. And for the first time, I see a future — one where I give back and help others find their way too.” Over the past 15 years, we’ve grown from a small initiative to a national organisation working across seven locations. Our services include residential rehabilitation, supported housing, education, youth outreach, and community employment—all grounded in a Christian ethos of dignity and restoration. Our 2024 Annual Report highlights: 134 residents supported through rehabilitation centres 220 residents in supported housing 111 residents earned third-level qualifications 531 family support interventions delivered 83 people engaged in community employment 18 jobs created through our social enterprises We believe real change happens when government and frontline organisations work together. Events like this show what’s possible when lived experience, professional support, and policy come together. Lives like Nicola’s and Paul’s are proof that recovery, dignity, and contribution are not only possible—they are happening every day. The full report can be read here: Tiglin_2024 Annual Report
