OUR SERVICES? Family Support Family Support Purpose: To support the families of those in our care and support them as their family members undertake a journey of recovery. Tiglin recognises that there is a significant need to support families who have been living with addiction. Here are some of the reasons why: Addiction impacts the whole family in significant and traumatic ways. The families of those in addiction have as much a need for recovery as for an individual in addiction. A family recovery process is required. Families need a space to heal and to learn about the effects of addiction on the whole family unit. Families need tools and strategies for their own wellbeing that can be pursued regardless of the choices their loved one makes regarding recovery or relapse. Often these tools/strategies not only serve the wellbeing of the family but also prevent them from overtly or inadvertently enabling the one in addiction. The success of addiction recovery is greatly aided by a healthy environment and if the family is growing and healing in their own recovery, that will contribute to the chances of ongoing success after treatment. Tiglin offers support to families who are living with a loved one in addiction and in addiction recovery. We offer regular family support group meetings as well as one-to-one support with our Family Support worker. For those who have loved ones in Tiglin’s residential programmes there are additional therapeutic supports available for adults and children. This can happen in person or virtually. send an email to family support
