Employment & Education Support

At Tiglin, we believe that access to meaningful employment and education is key to long-term recovery, reintegration, and personal growth. Our Employment & Education Support services are designed to help individuals take the next step in rebuilding their lives with purpose and confidence.

Whether someone is engaging in recovery, transitioning from homelessness, or seeking a fresh start, we offer practical, tailored supports that open doors to new opportunities.

Community Employment (CE) Programme

Tiglin’s Community Employment (CE) Scheme is nationally recognised as one of Ireland’s top three programmes for approved placements by the Department of Social Protection. This recognition highlights the impact and dedication of our team, participants, and partners in creating real pathways to employment and personal development.

At Tiglin, the CE Scheme goes beyond job placements—it helps individuals rebuild their lives. Many participants have overcome significant personal challenges, including addiction, homelessness, and long-term unemployment. CE provides them with the structure, support, and confidence to move forward with purpose.

Why the CE Scheme Matters

  • Restoring Confidence & Independence
Participants regain self-esteem, motivation, and a renewed sense of purpose.

  • Providing Work Experience & Training
On-the-job learning and accredited training equip individuals with valuable, transferable skills.

  • Bridging the Gap to Employment
CE supports individuals transitioning into long-term employment or further education.

  • Strengthening Communities
Participants contribute meaningfully to their local areas, helping strengthen social and economic ties.

Programme Locations

Tiglin’s CE Scheme now operates across six key locations, each offering unique experiences and supports:

  • Men’s Centre (Ashford)
  • Women’s Centre (Brittas Bay)
  • Reintegration Programme (Greystones)
  • The Lighthouse (Dublin)
  • Coolnagreina (Greystones)

Education & Training

We are proud to partner with South East Technological University (SETU) to deliver accessible, high-quality education to those in our care. In 2024 alone, 111 third-level certificates were successfully completed through this partnership—demonstrating the commitment and potential of our participants.

In addition to third-level learning, Tiglin supports access to literacy and numeracy improvement, IT training, life skills, and vocational courses. Our education pathway is designed to meet people where they are and help them grow at their own pace.

Career Guidance & Progression

Each individual works with a dedicated support team to build a tailored progression plan. From CV preparation and job searches to referrals for further education or specialised training, we provide ongoing mentoring and guidance to help people move forward with clarity and confidence.

Why It Matters

Many of those we support have experienced addiction, homelessness, trauma, or long-term unemployment. For them, employment and education are not just practical needs—they’re lifelines that restore hope, dignity, and purpose.

Tiglin’s Employment & Education Support is about second chances, new beginnings, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future.
