The Happy Pear’s Steve and Dave are familiar faces around Greystones and Wicklow. The two brothers, since starting a successful business, have upheld a standard of positive community impact. Such an example is their involvement with a Wicklow-based charity called Tiglin. Tiglin, which has centres in County Wicklow, Kildare, and Dublin, has a known presence in Greystones.

Rise at the Cove, which is a social enterprise started by Tiglin located at the seafront in Greystones, employs its students who left rehabilitation and are looking to get re-integrated into society. Tiglin at the Lighthouse [homeless café], opposite Trinity College in Dublin, welcomed the Happy Pear last Friday, who cooked fresh soup, bread, and other specialties while teaching the homeless clients the importance of nutrition.

The Happy Pear commented on Tiglin at the Lighthouse saying;

"Your facility is incredible, what you do is really important. Your volunteers are so heart-warming and full of love and it was a real pleasure to be part of what you do and to try to add some positive energy to it".

Linda Doyle, Provost and President of Trinity College Dublin, joined the festivities, having the honour of turning on the Christmas lights. She added:

“Tiglin at the Lighthouse on Pearse St is amazing. A really warm and welcoming place for those who are homeless"
