Tiglin's Women's Centre sits at Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow. The programme runs in structured phases 9 months, each one building on the last.
Women attend daily therapeutic classes, take part in recovery groups, grow food in the polytunnel, earn accredited qualifications through our SETU partnership, and spend time reconnecting with their families as the programme progresses. Many women leave with a Level 6 certificate, repaired relationships, and a plan for independent living.

This place has changed my life. I left here not just sober but confident in my ability to face the world.”
-Lisa

The Way We Create Change
The 9 months are structured across 4 phases. Each one builds on the last.

A Place of recovery
Built around each woman's needs
Phase 1: Arrival & Assessment
Each man is assigned a case manager and a personal care plan in the first week. The early focus is stability by establishing routine, building trust, and creating the foundation the therapeutic work requires.
Phase 2: Therapeutic Recovery
Daily recovery classes address what drove the addiction. Individual counselling begins once a woman is settled, typically from month 2. The programme draws on Celebrate Recovery, SMART Recovery, and RecoverMe, alongside clinical counselling and one-to-one key working. Progress is tracked and care plans are adjusted as each woman moves forward.
Phase 3: Education & Skills
Through our SETU partnership, women can earn accredited Level 6 certificates during their time at the centre. Art therapy, baking, equine therapy, and the polytunnel garden run alongside formal education. The sensory room offers a space for reflection and calm. For many women, this is the first time they've experienced learning something that belongs entirely to them.
Phase 4: Preparing for life after
As the programme progresses, family visits and family therapy sessions begin. Relationships damaged by addiction are given real time and support to rebuild. By the later stages, women are preparing for life beyond the centre, with housing support, employment planning, and a clear pathway to the Ladies Integration House in Greystones for those who need continued support.
Your questions, answered with honesty
How can I donate to support Tiglin?

Where does my donation go?
Donations fund frontline work directly: residential addiction recovery, supported housing, the Lighthouse café, family counselling, and education through our SETU partnership. We publish full figures every year in our annual report.
Can I volunteer with Tiglin?
Yes. We rely on volunteers across our centres, the Lighthouse café, events and fundraising. You can register interest through our contact page and we will match you to where you are needed.
How do I ensure the programs are effective?
Our LIFE.RESTORED research report tracked five years of outcomes and was launched by the Taoiseach in 2024. That year, we delivered 38,232 treatment sessions and supported 220 people in housing. We publish results in our annual report each year.
