Tiglin's Men's Centre opened in Ashford, Co. Wicklow in 2008. Set in the Wicklow Mountains, it provides 30 residential places for men who are ready to address life-controlling problems, primarily addiction.
The location is part of the design. Distance from the environment that drove the addiction, and a structured daily routine to replace it, are central to how recovery takes hold.
The programme runs for 9 months. During those months, men stabilise, attend daily therapeutic classes, gain accredited qualifications through our partnership with South East Technological University, and start rebuilding the life skills and relationships that addiction had taken from them. Many graduate with a Level 6 certificate and a clear plan for what comes next.

The Way We Create Change
The 9 months are structured across 4 phases. Each one builds on the last.

A Place of change
9 months of recovery, education, and preparation for life after the centre.
Phase 1: Arrival & Assessment
Each man is assigned a case manager and a personal care plan in the first week. The early focus is stability by establishing routine, building trust, and creating the foundation the therapeutic work requires.
Phase 2: Therapeutic Recovery
Daily group sessions and recovery classes address what drove the addiction. Individual counselling begins once a man is settled, typically from month 2. Progress is tracked using validated clinical tools, and each man's plan is adjusted as he moves forward.
Phase 3: Education & Skills
Through our partnership with SETU, men can earn accredited Level 6 certificates during their time at the centre. Woodwork, horticulture, and computer skills run alongside formal education. For many, it's the first time learning has felt like something they can do.
Phase 4: Preparing for life after
From month 7, the focus shifts to what comes next. Family therapy supports relationship repair. Social and occupational reintegration planning prepares men for employment or further study. Graduates can continue their journey at Carraig Eden, Tiglin's 7-month reintegration programme in Greystones.
Your questions, answered with honesty
